Walking among the vines
in the Presti e Pegni zones, carefully picking ones way over the
rough, clodded ground, one is aware of the tenacity and the compactness
that characterise one of Italy’s most absorbing wine-making realities.
Our imagination guides us into an understanding of the daily work
and the stubbornness of the local farmers who somehow manage to
communicate the essence of Sicily and its sun in their products.
The grapes, and the wines produced from them, seem to possess
the characteristics of the men and the territory that has made
them: courage, obstinacy, strength and structure. |
