Over the years, mankind,
under the influence and the guidance of nature, has had an enormous
influence on the environment and the living organisms that are
part of it. Indeed, little by little species and varieties that
best express the surrounding nature have once again made themselves
at home in each specific area of cultivation.
At Butera, 350 metres above sea level, where the sun reflects
off the “Trubi”, the typical white sediment of that characterises
this area of Sicily, the Nero d’Avola grape is once again flourishing.
Here the particular composition of earth, light and intense sunlight,
the daily activities of man and the Nero d’Avola vines, combine
to create the great Sicilian wine. In this area of vines and almonds,
all local grape varieties have found it possible to express themselves
at their best while “international” grapes are taking on hitherto
unknown characteristics. |
