Moscato dello Zucco

100% Moscato Bianco

Like a fragment of amber, it encloses the past and the history of Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale.

Only very few numbered bottles, from the vineyards in Tenuta San Carlo.

This Moscato is both ancient and modern. Its origins date back to the 19th century, when Henri d’Orléans, duke of Aumale, used to produce it between Partinico and Terrasini. In those days it was popular across Europe and considered one of Italy’s best Moscatos. Later, however, it disappeared. Almost. We recently recuperated a few clones of this Moscato Bianco. We select the grapes and have them withered in 3-kilo crates with holes until they lose 50% of their weight. A very soft pressing follows, with fermentation later taking place in small oak barrels.
